# Battery and parts authenticity

Read data in context.

## Quick start

1. **Open device details and check available battery health, cycle count and the time of the last reading.**
2. **Compare the same metrics.** Capacity calculated from available data may differ from the value shown by the operating system.
3. **Review available parts authenticity and replacement information.** Coverage varies by model and operating system version.
4. **Missing data does not confirm authenticity or a fault-free condition.** Add visual checks and appropriate functional tests.

1. Choose Battery to view health, cycle count and available readings.

2. In Parts, expand an individual component. Unverified data does not confirm authenticity.

## Health, charge and capacity are different

**Charge describes current energy; health describes long-term battery condition.** A fully charged phone may have reduced battery capacity. Distinguish design capacity, available maximum capacity and units. Check when readings were taken: historical values may not describe the currently connected phone. Compare the same metric with iOS settings, as calculation methods can differ.

## Evaluate cycles and operating readings

**Assess cycle count alongside capacity and real behaviour.** Cycle count alone does not decide whether replacement is needed. Record charge level, overheating, unexpected shutdowns and test conditions. Temperature, current and voltage are instantaneous values that change under charging or load. Do not replace unavailable readings with unlabelled estimates.

## Interpret parts information

**Read authenticity information in the context of the device model and system.** Battery, display and other component data are not equally available on every device. Distinguish a reported parts status, a replacement record and unavailable data. An unknown status does not prove a part is original. Compare discrepancies with available system parts and service history and a physical inspection.

## Explain conclusions to the customer

**A report should include measurements and their limitations.** State when readings were taken and what data was unavailable. If battery behaviour is unusual, add functional tests and repair observations; a single health percentage is not a complete assessment. Do not describe all parts as original when some could not be checked. This makes trade-in, repair and before-and-after comparisons clearer.
